Your reading guide

This is your own HTML reader—not a PDF embedded in Acrobat. All 66 Scripture books are available. Clark Commentary is in development. Prepared chapter drafts are listed in the reading room. The CC badge in the chapter selector marks a prepared draft, not pastoral endorsement.

Choose a chapter

Use the center chapter button to choose a book and chapter. Previous and Next cross book boundaries. Your last chapter is remembered on this browser. Mark chapter read records your own reading progress; simply opening a chapter does not mark it complete.

Read and search

Choose Study spread, Scripture, or Clark Commentary. Use A−/A+, the font menu, or Night to adjust reading comfort. Search this chapter, the whole Bible, or prepared commentary. A reference such as Psalm 23 or John 3:16 takes you directly to the passage.

Mark a verse

Select a verse to highlight it yellow or blue, bookmark it, or write a verse-specific note. Clear removes its highlight. Highlights cover whole verses. Bookmarks retain the exact book, chapter, and verse.

Protect your notes

My notes saves automatically on this browser when storage is available. Notes are tied to their exact chapter or verse. There is no account login, encryption, or cloud sync in this edition. Clearing browser data can erase your writing. Avoid sensitive information on shared devices.

Back up and restore

Export downloads a JSON backup of all notes, highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress. Restore backup merges missing entries without replacing existing nonempty notes or highlights. Conflicts are reported and kept unchanged; retain both backup files if you need to compare conflicting notes. Installation does not transfer notes from another browser.

Share and print

Copy chapter link copies only a reading reference, never your private notes. Print chapter uses your browser’s print function, not Acrobat. It prints the opened chapter and its prepared commentary, not the entire Bible.

Install the app

Open the live address in your regular browser. Where supported, choose Install app or the browser’s install menu. On iPhone, open in Safari, choose Share, then Add to Home Screen. The app opens in its own window where supported. Its first visit requires an internet connection; offline reading works after the full library and reader files have cached successfully.

Icons and commentary status

The CC-and-quill seal marks Clark Commentary. The open book marks Scripture; linked rings identify Covenant Connections. Commentary remains a draft for pastoral review, not an already endorsed teaching or an addition to Scripture. Unprepared chapters offer personal study prompts, clearly labeled as prompts rather than commentary.

Scripture and publisher notes

World English Bible wording is retained; paragraph layout and line breaks are adapted. Publisher headings and superscriptions appear separately from verse text. Translation notes are available at the bottom of each chapter. Note-only verse slots are labeled rather than filled with invented Scripture.
